The 2011 Nelson Car Show committee with John McNaught's
People's Choice winning 34 Chev
The Nelson Car Show is run by a Trust board of the same name. This is a not for profit organisation made up of a few local car enthusiasts who want to grow the hobby in Nelson by putting on a great show for the community as a whole.
We try to keep the entry cost as low as possible so that everyone can afford to enjoy the event. While we have a number of great sponsors who contribute either financially or with donations of product, the main source of income is still from gate sales, and we need to cover all the costs of running the event. We always put aside some funds for the next event, however any excess proceeds are donated to a worthy charity - in the past this has been the RNZFB Guide Dogs.
We're few in number but big on enthusiasm. Sometimes we work a bit slowly (those day jobs get in the way of having fun sometimes!) but we've got big plans to continue improving the show into the future. If you're a member of a local car club or an individual enthusiast who has a great idea or just wants to get involved then please contact us. All suggestions welcome but please go easy on us!
